The old 7.1 still works just fine on our Windows 10 machines and we have received no notices from our host that we need to look at going to Host On Demand. I am the only one here that has played with macros at all, so I don't have a user base to work with. Our iSeries host is migrating all functions to a web-based interface, reducing our usage of the terminal emulator. These guys claim they have it under control:

I've been exercising my Google-foo on this topic and think I found that if you install theĮHLLAPI tool then you *should* be able to leverage your current. But I have spent many hours searching for HAScript/Excel VBA integration.

The internet is littered with great information/examples of pre-HAScript scripting and Excel VBA integration. I got to think this is possible, but the IBM Knowledge documentation is very confusing and verbose.

Very confusing, and does not explain how to "Call" HAScript macros or pass variable to same. Have you looked at the "Host On-Demand Macro Programming Guide"? Yes. When you are recording your action, do you still have the option to choose your output type? Windows 10 iAcess Client Solutions only record using HAScript. In 7.1 you could choose between VBScript format and the basic macro format. I Just need to Execute and pass certain calculated variables to the HAScript code from within Excel VBA I will record the AS400 Macros which will auto-created in HAScript. You are not asking how to convert (or to rewrite) the script from one language into another, you are asking how to execute the HAScript from inside Excel.

It may be very simple, but I need to know if this is possible and a hint how to get started. I want to incorporate the HAScript code within VBA code as to perform exactly as the above routines. The HAScript code, as written, only executes the AS400 screen session as recorded. Note that certain variables are calculated using the VBA/vbScript code and utilized within the AS400 session screens. The VBA/vbScript code can be launched within Excel and effectively logs into an AS400 session and populate screen sessions to execute file extracts and return the AS400 session back to the original screen. I am including a table, below, containing a comparison of the new IBM HAScript macro code (left side of table) and my original VBA/vbScript Macro code on the right side.
